Renowned Danish composer and classically trained multi-instrumentalist, MYRKUR’s, recent full-length release Mareridt was the recipient of Metal Hammer’s prestigious Album Of The Year Award at last night’s Golden Gods Ceremony, as chosen by the magazine’s editorial staff!
I am beyond excited to embark on my Folkesange tour. I will perform traditional Nordic folk songs and acoustic versions of my own compositions, both from my debut and new record ‘Mareridt’. I am bringing a small group of very talented folk musicians and girls' choir singers to perform a handful of exclusive shows in unique and special venues around Europe.
MYRKUR's stunning new video "Ulvinde", directed by Mats Ek, beautifully captures her longing for a place in nature, in peace, away from the 'real' world - a world that she explains "often feels I cannot and was never meant to function in." Inner and outer demons all come to life in breathtaking footage captured across Norwegian landscapes and scenery.
